I went out walking along the headland around the Butt of Lewis, amazing cliffs and rock formations. Thought it was quite brave off me as hate heights but kept quite away back except for when saw birds.
Anyway keep seeing lots of brown birds. Some seemed different to each other and some were certainly bigger than meadow or rock pipits. Didn't want to take up too many posts so have put them altogether, will try and describe the size. I am afraid it was quite dim (unlike this morning), the birds moved quickly and they were taken from a long way, so very cropped and quite blurred. Hope you can help....any sorry for being a pest.

On a gate post on the fields down to the cliffs, smallish about sparrow size, first thought it was a pipit but wings and back seem too busy...any ideas?

On the desolate headland, thrush size, kept running away from me but not flying, no red not a redwing, two views back and blurry front/side
Long shot I know

And last were about 5 birds on the sand dunes coming down from the cliff, they didn't fly away until I got fairly close, were not over nervous. Was bigger than a pipit but smaller than a starling. Sorry best pictures I could take, the back view is the best (isn't it always) and a blurry front view. They were continous moving and pecking at the grass, hence the difficulty taken the pictures.
Can anyone help me tried looking through my Collins bird book but the ones I think it is usually live in Spain!!!
Thanks Debs
