Any thoughts..................Jon | Usually takes a while when you put out a new type of seed. Are they thistle seeds or niger seeds? The niger seeds are eaten mainly by goldfinches. Haven't had any experience of thistle seed but would think that it is similar in size to the niger. Know that goldfinches feed on thistle seed heads so cannot see why they shouldn't like it in a feeder.

canary seed or similar.It is the luck of the draw I have had a dozen gold finch descend they started on the niger but regularly empty 3 feeders of sunflower hearts! ignoring the niger and canary seed,so I will stick to the hearts from now on oh and peanuts of course
Most of the action today is in the pools of the "stream" there are so many birds bathing and drinking that the pond will need topping up soon!
