| | | Treecreeper I've always had a soft spot for treecreepers, finally managed to get a couple of pics of them:
This chap kept flitting about the trees
and then suddenly froze for about 30 seconds - I thought it had died it had gone so still:

They like trees with rough bark, as they're trying to capture the insects that live amongst the bark of the tree. I've been trying for eighteen months to get some decent Treecreeper shots, this week I've managed to get a few I'm quite pleased with. I don't want to take over Richards thread so I wont post any of them here.
Patience is definitely a virtue where Treecreepers are concerned.
Nice shots Richard. |

Nice shots Richard. | Yes a whole variety of trees- but one exotic the Giant Redwood has very soft bark + Treeceepers will often excavate roost/nest sites in the soft bark. |

Thanks, but you shouldn't say that! Your shots are fine, until a couple of weeks ago I didn't have any that where anyway near as good as yours.
I'd still be pleased to get a shot as good as yours, they're such awkward little devils to pin down. The main reason I was able to get these was because it had caught that insect, so it stopped for lunch, making my job all the easier! |

I have never even had a hint of an opportunity so well done to both Richard and Graham.

Richard | This is the only time I've ever seen a treecreeper in our garden. Several years ago I found this one stunned, in the middle of the patio. I moved him and left him to recover, while I kept watch in case a cat strolled in - but fortunately he recovered fairly quickly, and I was delighted to see him fly away, apparently unharmed. |

| | | Re: Treecreeper As I walked out my backj door this morning, I startled a wren, which flew into the wall, but not enough to hurt itself. I guess collisions are more numerous that we think. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
