Baby Starling
Posted 13-05-2009 at 03:33 PM by sticky1
It's the start of the day and you're brushing your teeth, when past your window you see a brown (what seemed like) ball fall straight down. Then seconds later, another fell!
"What was it?" I wondered.
But my question was answered when i got to the kitchen window. It had been a baby Starling!
And the mother.
I know for a fact that the Starlings had been nesting in my attic, but i did not want to move them.
The baby Starling didn't look like it was ready to fly, and after it's flall it landed on the kitichen windowsill, and still couldn't fly.
This leaves me to believe that either it was pushed out by the adults or a bigger bird, or it fell out (which is a more likely story).
I didn't want to do anything because the parents were trying to help it fly, but until i left it did not fly.
As i was leaving i noticed that one of the adults had a piece of bread in it's mouth and was feeding it to the baby.
After returning home i am yet to notice the baby, hopefully because it has flown away or because of a wirse stroy, that i do not want to mention.
I hope i will see the baby soon, and i'll keep everyone posted if i do!
