I visited the Wykeham Forest/Troutsdale area today to look for the special raptors which breed in this area and we wern't disappointed with excellent views of both Honey Buzzard(4 birds) and Goshawk (at least 3 differant birds). At one point we had 3 Honey's in the air together with a Common Buzzard for comparison! And another amazing sighting was when we watched a male Goshawk carrying a caught Jay across the valley infront of us,brilliant stuff1!!Also observed in the area was a single Red Kite, which is quite a good bird up there and the usual breeding birds Grey Wagtail,Spotted Flycatcher,Siskin and 3 Kingfisher, making for an excellent day's birding.
