Top Poster: glsammy (15,068) | | Welcome to our newest member, rickyhobson | | | | I have now had a redesign, it is now bigger, two-tiered, has a larger entrance but remains with the same 3.6v power and 8,000mcd LED.
I will post a species list if the Trap proves to be successful... | Knight Grand Cross of the Wild Empire | | Comments 0

I managed 17 different butterflies including one of the wood's highlights, the purple emperor. I also saw a couple of white-letter hairstreaks, silver-washed fritillaries, comma, common blue, brimstone, peacock, red admiral, small and large skippers and large and green-veined whites, to name a few.
A few dragonflies around... | Commander of the Wild Empire | | Comments 0
| | | ...glasgow!!! ...well not really i'm an edinburgh boy born ,if not totally bred, but a recent trip to that "dear green place" opened my mind a bit towards its natural world. the natives were indeed friendly ,and with the help of a local guide, namely my mate, and incidently my daughters boyfriend (don't ask it's complicated!),i saw my first ever kingfisher. all i saw was a very quick flash of azure, but deffinately one. a trip to the royal botanical garden was great too, several habitats... | Officer of the Wild Empire | | Comments 3
| | | After 14hrs of usage overnight, I checked the trap this morning (23/7/08) and, other than a Delichopus Long-legged fly caught 1hr and 10mins in, unfortunately the morning yielded nothing.
I imagine the problem with the trap was that the entry hole was the wrong shape/size, the collection tray was too small or the LED needs to be brighter.
I am now in the process of re-designing it and will post again soon.
Take care,
