I already have my own blog (accessible from my web site) which describes the walks that I go on - I generally walk 12-15 miles, two or three times a week, all over Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and the southern part of Oxfordshire. Here on my WAB blog I will just comment on the wildlife that I see on my walks. I love being out in the countryside and enjoy seeing all types of wildlife, but I am especially interested in birds and wildflowers.
Dunstable Downs to Markyate and back

Yesterday (13/12/07) I did a local walk, starting at Dunstable Downs. I walked to Whipsnade, passing the Tree Cathedral and the Zoo, and on to Studham, where I walked along the top of the common. I then made my way to Roe End and on to Markyate. I returned through Kensworth and Kensworth Church End, passing the enormous Kensworth Quarry, back to the Downs.
I saw several Redwings in different places, and had a glimpse of a fox between Studham and Roe End. A green woodpecker put in an appearnce as I went round Kensworth Quarry. I heard several Jays but didn't actually see one. Back at Dunstable Downs, I took of a photo of a bird that was either a raven or crow. It's being hotly disputed on a WAB thread at the moment!
I guess Guinea Fowl and Wallabies don't count as British wildlife!
