I already have my own blog (accessible from my web site) which describes the walks that I go on - I generally walk 12-15 miles, two or three times a week, all over Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and the southern part of Oxfordshire. Here on my WAB blog I will just comment on the wildlife that I see on my walks. I love being out in the countryside and enjoy seeing all types of wildlife, but I am especially interested in birds and wildflowers.
A walk near Royston

Gosh! It's months since I wrote a blog entry here!
Today I did a 12-13 mile walk south from near Royston, Herts., passing through the villages of Therfield, Kelshall and Sandon. I saw numerous Speckled Wood butterflies, one Small Tortoiseshell and two Red Admirals. I also saw a couple of Buzzards, and a female Muntjac deer.
I saw a Nettle-leaved Bellflower, lots of Clustered Bellflower, Wild Mignonette, both Red Campion and White Campion (though both very faded), and quite a lot of Common Toadflax.
