|  | Posted 22-02-2009 at 12:33 PM by nutmeg The warmish sunny weather has got the adders out sunbathing. I went to a local wood and chanced upon one by the side of the path. I have a snake phobia and usually avoid this area of woodland except in the winter months... I hadn't expected to see one out and about so early!
Anyway, seeing that I was frozen to the spot with fear, I thought I'd be incredibly brave and photograph it.

|  | Posted 31-01-2009 at 07:06 PM by nutmeg A lovely bright day. I went down the bottom of the garden to check on the progress of the winter aconites and snowdrops, taking just my macro lens. Typically, this meant that there were plenty of opportunities to photograph birds and I missed them  .
A grey heron rose up from the pond, as I approached, and flapped slowly overhead. Later, as I lay prone photographing snowdrops, I looked up just as a female sparrowhawk flew right in front of me. The long tailed tits were taunting... | Commander of the Wild Empire | | Comments 0
