well then- just got back from a weekend in the Lakes- nowt much on tv so thought i would write a little!
As well as visiting Bassenthwaite to see the Ospreys there-which was difficult to find and quite a slog up the fell when you get there!(all be it rewarding at the top!)- we visited the South Lakes wildlife Park in Dalton in furness.
This i much say was a very good day out (Reasonable at £11 adults and £8 kids)- there were many animals just roaming around where you were walking, Emus, peacocks, Leimurs, to name a few!
What caught my attention was a healthy population of white storks that had many nests built (sitting on eggs a few), that were not enclosed-Presumably had wings clipped.
There were otters and quite a bit of British wildlife in good created spacious areas, as well as all the tigers, lions hippos, Rino and giraffes etc!
Will probably pop back sometime!
Next week closer to home- checking up on the Northumbrian nesting raptors- Osprey included!
Want to Know more- just ask!
