New to blogs and up close and personal with badgers
Posted 20-07-2009 at 08:53 PM by Mexico
Hi
I thought I may start writing about a few of my "adventures" regarding my little trips out into the countryside looking at and photographing wildlife. There are lots of blogs, some good, some not so good, but if you are reading this one, thanks!
What has got me fired up about wildlife recently is badgers. I'm sure many of you have a badger sett you visit and see badgers on a regular basis. I very occasionally visited a sett and even less occasionally saw badgers. Photographing was a difficult prospect due to the sett being in a copse so light was always at a premium. This sett was about eight miles from where I live.
Recently, I have been helping out at a wildlife charity, more later. I was round there recently helping out with IT issues when I went for an impromptu wander around the farm in the dark with the centre owner. We saw several badgers and got to discussing if we could get them feeding in front of a hide at the other end of the farm. We decided to give it a go. I will bring you up to date with what we have managed so far in my next post. Watch this space!
