Garden birdwatching
Posted 09-12-2007 at 07:12 PM by Lincs Yellowbelly
I've struggled to get out in the last couple of weeks, so today decided to keep a eye on the Niger and Sunflower hearts feeder to see what fed on them throughout the day
The sunflower feeder has been a great addition, attracting Greenfinch which we never used to get in any great numbers
Today I regularly spotted Greenfinch, with the peak being 4, also plenty of Goldfinch on both feeders, plus a single Blue Tit visited. There was also a time where the House Sparrows tried to feed from the Niger seed, with limited success
Also I Sparrowhawk had a patrol during the middle of the day. All in all quite interesting to watch the usual species.
Hoping to get out and survey my Tetrad for the BTO atlas tomorrow, which is the local patch near my home
