Welcome to the Wild About Britain forums | | | | | Posted 26-07-2008 at 02:35 PM by leifus Updated 26-07-2008 at 07:54 PM by leifus Bentley Wood is in Wiltshire and is a place of pilgramage for butterfly lovers. The sun was out and the temperatures were reaching a good 25 degrees.
I managed 17 different butterflies including one of the wood's highlights, the purple emperor. I also saw a couple of white-letter hairstreaks, silver-washed fritillaries, comma, common blue, brimstone, peacock, red admiral, small and large skippers and large and green-veined whites, to name a few.
