Bison Hill

Yesterday I got up early, put on my waterproofs and made my way to Bison Hill where I walked along the steep chalky ridge all the way to Dunstable downs. I had no idea this was such a beautiful and interesting walk. I sat for a while on a mound and just looked out at what seemed miles and miles of landscape. It was so very peaceful as no one was out and about yet. As I walked I came across a rabbit who was just sitting on a bank and watched as I walked on by, careful not to disturb him too much! he then hopped off into the hedgerow. I saw so much wildlife and took so many photos. Anyway, the walk took me up and down little windy steep pathways and through paths lined with anchient trees with shapely roots and trunks and every so often I got a glimpse of the gliders floating in the sky above. I made it to dunstable downs in just over 40 mins(I had to keep stopping to admire the natural beauty) and had a relaxing flask of tea on the terrace of the visitors centre watching a couple of people flying their kites before heading back. There are several small and twisted paths that lead off from the main route which I explored and felt like I was an explorer for the morning finding places that no one had seen yet! I cant wait for the weekend to come so I can go there again and it would have been beautiful if the sun had been shining!
