Welcome to the Wild About Britain forums | | | | | Managed to get out late this afternoon when we had a break in the weather. I also grabbed my parents dog on the way up.
I started from Blackwater car park in the New Forest & walked east through Poundhill Inclosure towards Queens Meadow. It was windy even here so as I walked through the Inclosure I only saw a Marsh Tit, Coal Tits, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers & a flock of Crossbills flew over head.
Out the other end of the Inclosure & over the heath to Queens... | Commander of the Wild Empire | | Comments 0
| | | Went for a quick walk from Anderwood in the New Forest late this afternoon. We went through Anderwood Inclosure, into Knightwood Inclosure & then into Mark Ash Wood.

When I... | Commander of the Wild Empire | | Comments 3

Didn't get the chance to get out on Saturday (17th) as the girlfriend wanted to go & see Glastonbury Carnival.
Today I was all set for a conservation task on the Forest at New Copse Inclosure clearing brash for the Pearl-bordered Fritillaries that are in this area. But it had to be called off due to the heavy rain & wind.
It's still raining as I type & it doesn't look like its going to clear up this afternoon either.... | Commander of the Wild Empire | | Comments 2
| | | Helped a friend out with a 10 mile Ramble she was doing for the public today.
We started off from Knightwood Oak car park at 10am, went across Warwickslade, White Shoot, White Moor, Broom Hill, up onto Acres Down, round the outside of Highland Water Inclosure, past Stonard Wood, Fox Hill, Andrews Mare car park, Lucas Castle, followed the stream that turns into Highland Water Inclosure, then out at Bolderwood where we had lunch at about 1.30pm, down through Bolderwood Grounds, Mark Ash Wood,... | Commander of the Wild Empire | | Comments 4
