Posted 06-01-2008 at 07:35 PM by Deer Stalker
Helped with a conservation task clearing Birch in the Forest today.
The birdlife was pretty quiet but I did manage to hear & see Coal Tits, Blue Tit, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Green Woodpecker, Siskins, Jays, Robins, Wrens & the carcass of a Buzzard.
A few fungi about: Stereum hirsutum, Phellinus sp., Scitzopora paradoxa, Yellow Brain fungus, Yellow Stagshorn, Beech Woodwart, Green Wood Cup, Common Jelly Spot & some Puffballs (too old to ID).
There was also the leaves of Foxgloves, Heath Bedstraw & Hard Fern.
