Conservation Task - 2nd March

Pine pull on the heath at Dur Hill Down today.
There was a bit of sun & a strong wind.
Heard my first Skylark of the year singing there & as we moved across the heath we must've put up about 12 Snipe during the morning.
Also about were Curlew, Buzzard & Kestrel.
We ran out of pines to pull at lunch time so we fininshed early today. I decided to take those who were up for it for a walk around Dur Hill Inclosure to the Sand Lizard site, then over the railway bridge & back towards Burbush car park via Brown Loaf.
Out on the heath were meadow Pipits & Stonechats, & in whats left of the Inclosure (being restored back to heathland) were Coal Tits & Crossbills.
No Sand Lizards, only one Common Lizard under one of the tins.
There was a few bits of the fern Wall Rue on the old railway bridge & as we walked back we saw a few more Stonechats, Meadow Pipits & some Buzzards over towards Burley.
