 | | | Last Sunday saw an (increasingly rare) opportunity to go birdwatching, albeit locally. I was at Priory Drive by about 8:00 and spotted a beige tit that did not sound at all like a Coal Tit. I have since been trawling Xeno Canto and have found a similar call for Marsh Tit (from Germany, 3rd page as I write). It was certainly showy for a Coal Tit. Bins were still my bag when it went for good. | | Up before the crack of dawn, a heavily raining B/H Monday saw a failed attempt at a Boot Sale, a morning spent dodging the rain at Rainham and then a spur of the moment stop on the return journey.
I NEVER twitch I tell you, NEVER!  It's just that I knew this field so well I just had to stop there on the way home. All Rainham had produced was a migrant Tree Pipit that might well turn out to be a Meadow Pipit, some Linnets, and several common waders and wildfowl.
