A cold but bright day, I set off to get some birding in. Visiting Stanton Harcourt (Dix pit) 1st. An old gravel pit next to a landfill site that was packed with Gulls and waterfowl. The highlights there was a 2nd winter Iceland Gull, an adult Caspian Gull (Larus cachinnans), and 2 Yellow-legged Gulls (Larus michahellis). In all 8 species of Gull and 10 species of Duck.

2nd stop was Farmoor reservoir. Pretty quiet there except for Water Pipit, Shelduck, and a Green Sandpiper. Also about a dozen Little Grebe.

3rd was Little Wittenham Wood, where as usual picked up most of the usual woodland species.

A good day with 81 species seen.
