I think there are 2 doom and gloom prophesies; one is something to do with the alignment of all or most of the planets in 2012, but as NASA aren't worried, then I'm not.
The other is something about the Mayan Calendar, where it all ends in 2012. But I read recently ( I think on the BBC news site ), that all these years, they'd been translating it wrongly and the correct translation says that good things are going to start from this date.
I wish someone could enlighten me, as I've already started digging a shelter in the back garden, I just need to know - do I fill it with tins of beans or cans of beer ??

I suggest beans and keep it to yourself The future hasn't happened yet so can't be predicted - go swing a few crystals.... and so much for an Astronomy Forum
