| | | Re: Higgs boson - now what ? Didn't the recent neutrino 'incident' at CERN (or was it another collider in Italy?) support the theory of time travel, whilst also calling into question Einsteins Special Theory of Relativity?
I know these results have not been fully verified but at least it shows that established theories in science are questioned by scientists when new evidence is revealed.

Yesterday, I could find 6 pairs of glasses, 2 weeks ago I couldn't find any, today the tide is ebbing again, only pairs to be found. I do in fact own about 8 pairs, but number is seldom achieved. Don't get me started with handkerchieves, I buy 6 every time I can't find one, currently they have replaced all my socks.

| | | Re: Higgs boson - now what ? another possibility is a tribe of a small gremlins living in the attic which live in villages made of biros and thatched with post it notes - the homeless gremlins camp in tents made of socks, and they harness solar power by using spectacle lenses to focus the suns rays to cook

I may mount an expedition...

On an equally sane note, I think CERN is an essential establishment. I remember in the days of B&W TV, there was a documentary on how they found the W and Z particle; if only they'd repeat it, there'd be a lot more people understanding its value. These days, Brian Cox and Co bombard us with science instead of educating us with it.
On time travel, you can't travel backwards or forwards in time. It's just that time slows down, the faster you travel.

H. | Doh! And there's me thinking I could go backwards in time to do last saturdays lottery number before its drawn. But then I guess there'd be a few million folk doing the same thing and we'd all end up with a tenner.
Well I'm sure they'll make good use of this Higgs Boson particle but I don't think it'll be in my lifetime. If we could fast forward 50 years then we might know.

| | | Re: Higgs boson - now what ? It seems they've found yet another particle ............ BBC News - LHC reports discovery of its first new particle
Why don't they name it after something that means something? Like Biro or Sock ............... ?
