Asteroid 2005 YU55 will pass within 0.85 lunar distances from the Earth on November 8, 2011. The potentially dangerous asteroid is nearly as large as four football fields.

Distance above Earth for the pass is about the same as the Moon which it will miss. 325,000 Kilometers or 200,000 Miles above us....November 8th at 5.28pm. ..NO Impact THIS Centuary....aDm...

No idea..... But we live in exciting times..... However, this particular asteroid won't hit earth.... this time.

It's curious that when Pres Regan's "Starwars Project" was dumped the scientists looked for a new project and up popped NEO "near earth objects" and it's certainly got your attention ad infinitum

In reality the "threat" has been there since the beginning of time but you'd never sack a scientist if your life was at risk even though they can't do anything to divert a killer asteroid - sleep tight

I expect that the bits of Earth would join the Asteroid belt if it hit.
