I have 6 of them - all different sizes and types (2 newtonians, 3 refractors, and a Maksutov) - all standing on tripods in the spare-room - PLUS loads of other accessories, and 4 pairs of binocs. My wife has started calling the spare-room 'Jodrell Bank'

had a think and I'm going for a Skywatcher 8 inch Explorer on HEQ-5 mount.
I think I will want to try some photography so like you said the dob isn't really any good.
