| | | Re: recent astro pics The *Dumbbell Nebula* M27 in Vulpecula is one of my favourite deepsky targets that I return to frequently in summer - here in 2 min exposure via my 30cm Meade telescope taken earlier this week
My scope's a permanent astrograph that just takes pics [not viewed through] and I've added a logo to show, unlike the rural viewers, I'm in the city - well 9 miles from London's Picadilly Circus so plenty of light pollution but as you can see from pic I do pretty well recording faint stars impossible to view from a mountaintop through a giant amateur scope and of course, colour is a bonus http://www.cloudynights.com/ubbthrea...6x120tcut2.jpg

The are all in a small area of sky. The second image is the Ring Neb M57 sharpened via software to show detail within the Ring
Light pollution here in London plus a rising harvest moon ruins visual work but has little impact on the camera images which is why I take this route and puts me effectively on a *virtual mountain-top* - hope they are of interest | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
