| | | moon pic Great deepsky session last night on faint galaxies etc despite bright gibbous moon so finished on it in this crude mosaic as it didn't all fit a single shot - the moon so bright even 1/1000s was overexposed and had to partially block light to scope for this fair result |

| | | Re: moon pic I have just tried to take a shot of the moon your pic is fantastic I wish I could get something other than a white blob..
I have tried all the settings and still its over exposed can you explain in simple terms what you did and what settings you had the camera on.
I have a canon and tamron and every shot I take even in daylight seems to be OK until I crop it then its not very sharp and its blurred but the moon was a real disappointment..
If anyone can help and not hijack this thread please pm/vm me..
Thank you.. |

| | | Re: moon pic Looks like a lot of people had the same idea last night (and no doubt tonight too). Nice shot nytecam. I managed to get a couple of OK shots with my 300mm + 2x converter:
I find that if I decrease the ISO (this was taken at 200), close down the aperture a little (this was F8), have a slightly negative (-0.3 exposure bias) and meter on the moon the exposure is OK.
Cheers,
Marc. |
