Thank you for that info, very interesting indeed. I do have Heavens Above but don't look at it that often. Better take a look at Stellarium

Yes - it's fun to fast forward it and see the stars and Sun whizzing across the sky!

I spotted Venus very easily with the naked eye this morning. At about 10.30 am, I measured four fists to the right of the sun (more or less due south) and there it was. The cold air at the moment is very good for seeing distant hills sharply, so Venus will also be easier to see.
