| | | Re: Problems taking shots of the moon I find that if you have intelligent ISO it can help or lower the ISO. I use my digital Lumix with just a zoom no telescope or anything and it comes out OK
Also perhaps if you try spot focus?
Works for me but I guess you guys have professional cameras . |

Here's a ..*VERY SIMPLY DONE*.. Moon shot....
Through 10x50 binoculars costing only £9-99 (Special offer in Lidl shop - very good bins for the price) - Using a Kodak 2mp digital camera (at about 2x of it's OPTICAL zoom)
HAND-HELD.... Camera lens simply pushed up against one of the eyepieces.
I let the camera use it's autofocus, and compensated the exposure DOWN by 2 stops.
No other messing about at all - no fiddling with ISO, or specific f/stops and shutter-speeds.
This was the best of only 4 shots - you can see a little vignetting against the inside of the eyepiece FOV at the bottom edge of the Moon - coulda probably centred it better if I put the binocs on a tripod, but I was experimenting to see what I could get using the SIMPLEST possible method.
(click for full size pic) | I tried that many times with an expensive pair of binocs but I fail... It won't focus =[ And the moon is too big lol... Any Tips?
My Efforts are terrible compared to yours =[ lol |

| | | Re: Problems taking shots of the moon Don't be so quick to put yourself down. These guys have many years of experience and you're just starting out. Don't look at it like a failure, look at it like an experience and something to build on in good time. It's an exciting prospect. If all of our images were 100% perfect and stunning first time, photography would get very boring. We love it for the challenge and results of experimentation and effort! It's a gradual process and if we persist, we feel that satisfaction when the right shot is taken!

P.S - I like your photos |

I enjoy taking photos and I do get better but I can't understand how people can get such good shots
