| | | Autumn for distant moons Took these shots yesterday of my garden ob and in the evening four very faint moons of planet Uranus and moon Triton near planet Neptune - Triton is probably a capture minor planet from the outer solar system and uniquely rotates around Neptune clockwise [seen from the 'top'] eg the wrong-way-round.
All planets rotate around the sun and spin on their axis [including the sun] plus all but a few moons in an anticlockwise direction and evidence of their common origins in the pre-solar system nebular some 5BYs ago

| | | Re: Autumn for distant moons As I have only glimpsed Uranus once as a star-like point, its great to see your photos.

| | | Re: Autumn for distant moons Here's a 20s shot via my scope [1130mm fl f/3.3] from Saturday night showing three sats of Uranus. The satellites are nearly x1000 fainter than Uranus hence the disk of Uranus is grossly over exposed in this shot. It's a tiny blue disk in the 1/10s exposure needed to record it correctly
