I saw these images downloaded to my laptop screen in the observatory as I'd done for well over a decade. I rarely eyeball through the telescope eyepiece as that way I can't share [with you and others] what can be 'seen' up there. A picture is proof and worth a 1000 words of heresay
Below is a montage of the conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus in Pisces taken recently when both were in the same starfield and at opposition [nearest to earth] an extremely rare combo - note that Uranus' moon Oberon was captured this time whilst Titania [in previous pic] was hidden in the glare of the planet. I use freeware planetarium program Cartes du Ciel to identify the planets' moons - enjoy

| | | Re: ten ice worlds Lol, sorry. It's not so much that I'm accusing you of faking images, I am just absolutely stunned that you can get images of the rings of Saturn from a garden. Clearly you've spent a lot of time and effort setting up an observatory, but still. I was thinking of having a go at learning some astronomy this winter, there's an amateur society here in London that does monthly meetings etc and is beginner friendly.
Honestly, I take on too much. I start off looking up at birds and end up wanting to spot Saturn too. |
