Excellent! Interesting to think that the light from those deep-space galaxies, takes so long to get here, the galaxies don't exist anymore. So you could say we're looking back in time!

An excellent link Susie, well worth viewing. Astronomy has always been a favoured subject of mine, I always find it fascinating to think that when ever you look up, your not seeing what's there now, but what was there tens, hundreds and thousands of years ago. Hubble is a real time machine, as are any telescope or binoculars, when you look at the stars.

In case anyone is interested, there is a 6200 x 6200 pixel version of the Hubble Ultra Deep Field image available for donwload from here in JPG (61MB) and here in TIFF (110MB)

The 800 x 800 ish representations are impressive, but download the big image and you can get lost in it for ages. Well worth the download folks.
