| | | Mercury 'near' the sun Ellusive planet Mercury is currently too near the sun to be seen safely but you can watch its daily progress as it moves right between earth and the sun over the next week via the SOHO solar camera at SOHO LASCO C3 Latest Image http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/data/...512/latest.jpg
The tiny dots on the picture are the starfields behind the sun never to be seen from earth - except under a total solar eclipse - but SOHO goes much much fainter!
