Erm, no. Ardemole yesterday quoted 15.35 hrs (probably adjusted for BST) yesterday for last quarter 4 July. I guess that`s why sometimes we see the moon during the daytime!

Took this pic this morning at 9am in full sunlight - if you repeat tomorrow you'll get your precise last quarter at a social hour you crave for By selecting the red channel [via PaintShopPro/PhotoShop etc] better contast to the blue sky is achieved.

Not quite the effect I am looking for, nytecam, but impressive nevertheless. I think I shall still wait for a night shot, though, as I like to get as much crater detail as possible with my Canon 100-400mm. Thanks anyway.
