| | | Star photo A while ago I think it was Nytecam who encouraged us to have a try at sky photos with ordinary cameras.
As last night was wonderfully clear I thought I would have a go. My camera is a Panasonic FZ28. One of the setting will give a 15, 30 or 60 sec exposure. This is 60sec which, I'm guessing, is why there is some blurring of the images, of part of Taurus.
Would have taken more but it was so cold I couldn't work the camera after a few mins.

Unmistakeable 'V' of the 'Haydes' near the bottom, with the 'Pleiades' further up.
A fair bit of Aries is in there too.
I can also see open cluster M34 - It's faint, but definitely there.

| | | Re: Star photo Thanks Carlos. Its not much compared with excellent sky photos on this site, but it was good to get something. I'm in NW Scotland just now so there is no light pollution unlike at home in east London. |

Starry nights are something I miss now I live in the city centre
Here are a couple of wide-field photos I took on the night of the Perseids, the first is Jupiter and the second Cassiopiea

2 bryanmansell.co.uk: photography
I can dig out the actual tech info, but from memory i think it was around 80 seconds for each exposure.
