| | | Re: Moon+Mars at moonrise I do so appreciate your pictures, Nytecam. Whilst we are sitting glued to the tv or pc screen - especially now it's getting chilly and dark - we can forget the real world is out there. You are still seeing these sights for us....so keep 'em coming, it reminds me now and again to get off the chair and look for myself!
Cheers,
D.

| | | Re: Moon+Mars at moonrise 'earthshine moon' - a great shot. Is there a technical term for seeing the dark side of the moon?

After midnight, the sky here was crystal clear - best night since spring, shame about Moon limiting my scope's deep-sky capabilities.
Still a great night for clusters though, so long as I didn't look too close to that Moon.

| | | Re: Moon+Mars at moonrise another lunation and the earthshine crescent moon after dusk on Dec 20th - need tutorial for perfect merge of these two exposures YouTube - zoomin' moon via Hitachi cam via my new pre-Xmas cam - amazing a cam lens of 34mm fl optical zoom [focal length little more than the human eye!] can record hint of Mare Crisium and clearly a crater on the lunar terminator on full [if pixelated] - zoom of optical+digital x50

| | | Re: Moon+Mars at moonrise I've never challenged the popular idea that digital zooms are 'trash' but I've had second thought via this moon sequence via a dual camcorder/camera in camera-mode that holds up quite well at x20 zoom eg x5 optical+x4 digital zoom - even the gross x50 zoom at modest enlargement fairs quite well from a 34mm fl lens little 'long' than the human eye lens | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
