Re: full moon tonight

Wow.... Amazing pics!!! Got the family gathered admiring them. Wishing we had a camera capable of getting shots like these or a scope to view.

Re: full moon tonight

Very nice pics indeed, you can't beat the ETX's for a bit of moon watching :-)

Re: full moon tonight

Thanks eveyone for your interest
Here's a shot of last night's [Nov 3rd] full moon via my Meade ETX-70 with a mono camera in just 1/1000s due to the moon's brilliance. It's not as good as my earlier shot above via handheld digicam but this cam normally reserved for faint deepsky stuff at which it excels - horses for courses

The crater with the halo around [towards the bottom of pic] is Tycho and the light area around it is the debris fallout from the impact of a huge meteorite hitting the moon billions of years ago. Tycho is, I think, ~60 miles across

Re: full moon tonight

Great shots as per usual nytecam but when I first glanced at the thumbnails thought you'd captured a strange looking satellite station/space shuttle -Then realised it was your telescope!
