Rose at dawn briefly [then back to bed!] last Sunday to snap brilliant Venus due east and high in the southeast the crescent moon and nearby planet Mars with Orion further west. The moon is precisely where the sun is on June 21 [summer solstice] eg the highest the sun can get in the sky!
Taken with regular digicam [Fuji E550] on tripod in 'night-mode' setting for longer exposure

Nice photos Nytecam, particularly the second one. As the nights get dark I think I have a go with my bridge camera. |
