| | | our neighbour galaxy Here's a brief 40s exposure of M31 via my wide-angle finder camera that reveals the dust lanes of this near edge-on galaxy and two satellite galaxies M110 and M32 [marked].
M31 appears as a faint fuzzy to the eye or in binoculars high in the east [starmap needed] in the late evening and is our twin neighbouring galaxy to our own Milky Way galaxy and contain millions of stars

| | | Re: our neighbour galaxy That's a great picture of M31 (the Andromeda Galaxy) which is the furthest object to be seen with the naked eye. It's 2 million light years away or, as Douglas Adams once said, a little further than the local chemist.
