| | | Re: How big is the Earth? Thanks. I've seen that before but posting on WAB adds a new perspective as I'm familiar with all the BIG stars listed but even I don't 'see' them in that light
If of interest the REALLY BIG ONE Antares [meaning rival of Mars due to its red colour] is very low down [~10deg above true horizon] due south at dusk about now and visible to unaided eye if clear - good luck

| | | Re: How big is the Earth? I would have never of thought that the Earth was that big compared to Venus and Mars, but it's so small compared to the Sun.
It just makes you think about the Universe, doesn't it! |

If I read it correctly VJ CMa = R2800 solar or x2800 diameter of our puny sun at ~1,000,000 miles across - this is a scaled diagram out to the orbit of Uranus - VJ CMa would swamp all the sun's planets Mercury to Saturn easily - now that's BIG

| | | Re: How big is the Earth? Does VJ Canis majoris have planets orbiting it? And do they know how old it is and how long it has left? I imagine it will create the mother of all black holes. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
