noctilucent cloud last night

I saw it last night too as I was playing with my moth trap. First time for me that I've properly noticed them.

I'm going to have a look out tonight if it clears up, what is the best time of evening to see them? would I be right in saying they only show up when the sun is at a certain angle below the horizon?

Well, I generally look due north north west, just before midnight the other night.

Thanks Adam. I have just been out the back and looked towards the direction you said. It's lit up like a sunset! All pinks and blues at the moment, with cumulus clouds dotted. The rest of the sky looks pretty clear though.

Thanks Adam will try to have a look. Dawn: it's now a blanket of featureless grey, I don't even have any interesting cloudscapes to look at now lol

Mine is looking decidedly cloudy too. It seems to be gathering up with the dusk

Looks like it could clear through, but there's still alot of broken cloud about behind that band across the south.
