Nice one Nytecam.....I was surprised to see it partially hidden like the moon is at times.
What was causing the shadow across it?  |

Thanks Ruth -and Venus again this morning with clip posted 45min after the viewing - getting the hang of finding Venus in daylight and getting video out rapidly 
Yes - Mercury and Venus are within the earth's orbit and continually exhibit moon-like phases  Planets Mars, Jupiter and Saturn [beyond the earth's orbit] appear like the full moon all the time.

Hi Ruth - glorious Sunday and spied Venus [and gibbous moon] at 8AM and 3.30PM - video clip here. 
ps:shame about the cirrus contrails from jets inward bound to Europe from the States - I'm advised this effects global warming but flying higher would reduce this as the contrail don't form  |
