| | | new comet C/2009 F6 [Yi-SWAN] Heard on the astro-fora last night about a new comet called c/2009 F6 [Yi-SWAN] and got these fair pics before cloud moved in The comet was initially discovered last month on the SWAN camera very close to the sun and rediscovered by a Korean amateur a few days ago. The comet is circumpolar [can be viewed all night] in the constellation of Cassiopeia eg the 'W' low in the NNW sky at dusk and will be around for the next month if faint needing powerful bins to find it.
My pic taken last night [maybe the first from UK!] over London with millions of folk beneath all needing their loverly lights on The comet moves noticeably over 20 min. Thought the new discovery may be of interest
