anyway i brought these cards that show the constelations and light up in the dark so you can se how for example orion is set out.
well couldent believe it wife went to look out tonight and saw a shooting star, heading sw-s. i was gutted, but glad she also is having interest.

| | | Re: Shooting Star oooh I love seeing shooting stars. Makes me feel all tingly inside, especially when I see them at the coast. I've been known to lay on a beach in the dark on the Isle of Wight and just gaze at the sky for hours until I see one
I saw my best one.....with the longest lasting trail.....a couple of years ago on a night with a full moon.
Twas a rather lovely experience

| | | Re: Shooting Star sirius is also called the "dog star" ,it represents orion ,the giant's dog, and if you look closely at orions " belt" appearing to hang from it is stars in the shape of a sword!!

| | | Re: Shooting Star Orion, to my mind, is one of the most easily identifiable constellations in the northern hemisphere. If people cannot see him, there is no hope! (It amazes me just how many people cannot "see" constellations .)
The cards sounds a great idea, especially useful when camping.
