My first moon shot one morning this week saw it as I went out to feed the birds ran and grabbed camera

That's lovely. The moon looks like a pin-prick when I try this.

Looks like a nice shot (doesn't load full size though). You need to use a telephoto lens for moon shots otherwise you get the pin prick effect. Try shooting the moon behind or close to trees or with buildings in the shot with the long lens and you'll get a much better result.

would like to see your photo it looks good can you post it again? I didnt use telephoto as my camera doesnt have one just set it to manual and shot so keep trying

Thanks again new camera had it as a pressie from hubby for our 25th WA in the summer. still playing with it really as I had a Richo 35 mm before and used that for 20yrs. I love the moon and would love to get a closer shot

This is probably my best photo of the moon



This was taken with a 300mm zoom at F8, ISO 100 and shutter speed 1/250 so you do not even need a really big zoom to get a decent photo
