weird moon

Did anyone else notice that the moon had gone orange last night - I cant think of an explanation unless the street lights were lighting up the mist and acting like a clour filter. thougts anyone ?

I noticed the moon although it was low in the sky here,tried some shots of the local bats crossing the face of it but no results,it was quite a clear sky stars showing, cool air
I would guess it was more like a sahara dust storm to give that tint and coverage

Dust could be the answer. If my memory serves me right the weathers forecast yesterday said that all this hot weather we're having is due to a "plume" of hot coming up off the Sahara.

why would that make it orange tho

I saw it too! Very orange...and low in the sky. I'd put it down to something to do with pollution (made worse by the heat) ...a kind of dust haze (like when you get a Harvest moon)....but I like the Sahara dust storm suggestion far better! Much more mystery and wow factor to that, than an 'orrible smog hanging over Bristol - which is what I'd thought caused it!!
