| | | Re: online moon phase/chart Not being an astronomer Dan I can't guarantee my answer, so hey you're not the only one who feels this way . On average the moons full cycle lasts 29.5 days which closely resembles our calendar month, which means just month- moon phase! My guess is that it would be the same world wide just differences with moon rise & fall?!? I'm sure you'll get a fully fledged bonafide answer soon in the meantime this link might be more worth your while??? moon-phases.net - a free Internet resource about lunation

| | | Re: online moon phase/chart Yep - the Moon will have the same phase no matter where you view from - all bar a tiny bit of 'libration'
If you were to view from one side of the Earth, in a place where the Moon had just risen - and compare that to the view from the other side of the Earth, where the Sun was just about to set.
The two viewing positions would be separated by almost the diameter of the Earth - so one person would be able to see a little bit around one side of the Moon, and the other person would be able to see round the other side of the Moon.
The difference would be very small, but it would be measurable with accurate equipment.

Mind you, I was also told the the top off a boiled egg wasn't good for you (Mother is a miner's daughter from Derbyshire, she remembers a birthday when the present was a boiled egg, got her legs slapped for eating it all as half was for her brother). Vinegar turned your blood to water ( then what happened). | It's perfectly ok to eat all the egg as long as you put a hole through the bottom of the empty shell. That stops the witches sailing away or crossing the road - can never remember which (excuse the pun). | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
