| | | What can I see with/ what telescope for under £300?? Hi all,
This is a question that has been asked many times before however i have not come across a suitable answer for my situation yet. I am looking for good clear colored images of planets and possibly detailed images of the moon. First off is this possible for a telescope in that price range, if so which one?
I live in Cardiff which is heavily light polluted but can drive a short distance for clearer skies without trouble. I currently have an event horizon telescope which was a cheap ebay job but was disappointed with a view of Jupiter i had some time ago. I'm not sure if this was down to light pollution, position of the planet or just a poor telescope?
I am also looking into the possibility of astrophotography in the longterm, again of planets and moon mainly but would love an idea of price range for this sort of thing?
Regards

| | | Re: What can I see with/ what telescope for under £300?? Hello Gareth yes you can get up to an eight inch reflecter for under three hundred pounds. If you have bad light pollution and you want to travel get a dobsonian or a four inch refractor short tube but with the dobsonian it will be harder to track if you want to take photos. But yes you surely can get a good deal with your money. I have a link somewhere I will have a look for it. regards Jim | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
