| | | Re: 12 Month Full Moon Names I'd heard of Harvest and Hunters moons but didn't know the rest had names. I've found a couple of web sites that give a full list... Full Moon Names and Their Meanings
or The Names of the Full Moons
They agree with the names you've listed but switch a few of them to different months.
That second page also has a link to an explanation of what a "Blue Moon" is. And there was me thinking that "once in a blue moon" was just a colourful way of saying "never".

Just answered my own question... Full moon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Gives English, Native American, Hindu and some alternative names. It also puts the English ones back onto the months that flying red Fox originally gave.
I'm with BWD on this - I had no idea about all these names and it's fascinating stuff! So poetic!

| | | Re: 12 Month Full Moon Names probably not related at all, but doesn't a 'pink moon' signify imminent death or tragedy ? I'm a bit of a Nick Drake fan and also read a fab book called 'wine of angels' by phil rickman. Interesting folk lore behind it.

| | | Re: 12 Month Full Moon Names Well the "Hunters" or "Blood" moon is up there tonight but you'd never know it from where I am. There is just an area of cloud slightly lighter than the rest.
Hope we have a better view next month...
