This may sound daft but does the Harvest moon have any rellavence to the Harvest? I know somepeople do sow and harvest by the moon calender? Very nice shot by the way

Jez,
The "Harvest moon" is the full moon that appears nearest to the Autumnal Equinox, occurring in late September or early October.
Autumn's association with the transition from warm to cold weather, and its related status as the season of the primary harvest, has dominated its themes and popular images.
I hope this provides some explanantion. |
