I have a large telescope at work which i want to buy a motor for and an attachment to project with a digital projector and grab images. If I get the details is there anybody here who could help with selection of said equipment?

The sky was fantastic, saw loads of stars (don't get that many here in Reading ). But seriously, loads of shooting stars on Sat & Sun nights (16/17th) towards the south west.

jen xxx | Thank you! Had a great time, will post a few of the *ahem* 600 photos I took when I sort through them!
Still can't get over the difference in the night sky between here in Reading and up there in the middle of nowhere.

We overlook the sea and there is no light pollution here. We are very lucky. I have heard it mentioned that you can see satelites from earth. Is that true and how do you identify it? Or am I just being silly. |

| | | Re: My God it's Full of Stars I used to see them in Cornwall quite a bit but no street lights. They are like tiny stars that move quickly but smoothly in a straight line...planes lights flash ans sometimes appear to move about a bit and are larger (hmm, maybe they were ufo's not planes?! )

Countless stars plus we had venus, mars, jupiter, and saturn, and we could see gas clouds too. Amazing.
Cheers,

| | | Re: My God it's Full of Stars The best place I've ever experienced for stars was climbing to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. The air is thin and there's no pollution at 19000 feet and the stars were absolutely amazing. Apparently you can see more stars with the naked eye from the southern hemisphere than from the northern. The only trouble was because of the extreme cold and relative lack of oxygen all I really wanted to do was descend to the warmth and comfort of the hut several thousand feet below! |
