Wyrt (Green Plant) Moon is a medeival name for the full Moon in August. The ancient celts named the following.
January: Quite Moon
February: Moon of Ice
March: Moon of Winds
April: Growing Moon
May: Bright Moon
June: Moon of Horses
July: Moon of Claiming
August: Dispute Moon
September: Singing Moon
October: Harvest Moon
November: Dark Moon
December: Cold Moon

We had some clear skies last night too, so I rattled off a few more frames.
I switched to manual focus and was able to bring a bit more detail out.  |

Ah, that was one big beautiful full moon. I haven't seen the moon in ages with all that cloud we had in the summer, so it was a treat. Full moons make me go a bit loopy-- I stick my head out the window in the middle of the night and take deep breaths of that lovely cold night air, perhaps howling if I feel like it!  |

See now...after the horrible girly mooncup thread...this one could have had a whole new meaning but thankfully its about that big white planet and not a volume of any kind of liquid. |

Not surprising, Luna is the earth's moon and effects many people in strange ways hence a lunatic.
